About The Test

What kind of test is this?

We offer two types of qRT-PCR (also known as PCR or qPCR) diagnostic testing solutions:

uses samples collected via quick and painless nasal swab, it delivers results within  hours.

SalivaDirect™ is an RT-PCR process developed at the Yale School of Public Health. It uses a saliva sample, rather than a nasal or throat swab, to detect the presence of the virus.

We can provide the CDC's test upon request for destinations that require it.

Is this test accepted for air travel?

As a qRT-PCR test—the most accurate type of test available—our tests meet air travel requirements for almost all locations.

Important: Be sure to check the website for the state or country of your destination for the latest information about travel requirements. We cannot be responsible for problems caused by not knowing your destination’s travel requirements.

How accurate is the result?

renegadeXP is a qRT-PCR test—the most accurate type of test available. Results show that it is highly sensitive and accurate compared to the CDC test.

Why should I get tested? I don’t have any symptoms.

Knowing your current COVID status is important to protect those around you, especially since a significant number of those infected show mild or no symptoms.

Is it safe to get tested?

The testing location is outdoors, and you can stay in your car. We ask everyone to wear masks and keep social distance.

How do I sign up?

Go to the Primary site, where you can register, schedule, and pay for your test. When you register, we’ll text and/or email you with the time and location of your appointment.

For non-travelers, we offer no-cost testing for insured and uninsured individuals, restrictions apply. Schedule a test or visit testthepeople.org for more information.

Can children get tested?

Yes, children and infants may be tested using nasal, oral, or saliva sample collection methods. SalivaDirect has a minimum age of 4 years old.

Check your destination's test requirements to make sure your child's test complies with regulations.

The entire collection experience should take less than 15 minutes. You’ll receive results within 12 hours, or 24 hours for SalivaDirect.

How long does it take to get results? How will I receive my result?

You’ll receive results within 12 hours, or 24 hours for SalivaDirect. Most results are available within 24 hours (48 hours max). You’ll receive a text message and/or email with a unique access code that you can use to access your results online.

What if I don’t have a smartphone?

You can access your results via most internet-connected devices (laptop, desktop computer, tablet, etc.), as long as you have access to the text message or email containing your unique access code. If you don’t have access to the internet, you can call +1.855.480.0771 for help with your results.

What if I haven’t received my results?

If it’s been 12 hours since your test (or 24 hours for SalivaDirect) and you haven’t received your results, email support@renegade.bio or call +1.855.480.0771 for help with your results.

What does it mean if I test negative?

A single negative test result does not mean you are free from infection. It simply means that you did not have COVID-19 at the time of testing, or the sample was collected too soon after you were infected.

False negatives are more likely than false positives, especially in the first days after exposure. The test is most accurate three to seven days after exposure. If you suspect your test result is inaccurate, you should get tested again.

If you’ve been exposed—even if you test negative—the safest way to protect those around you is to self-quarantine. Here’s more information from the CDC.

What happens if I test positive?

You should plan on isolating yourself from everyone (including those you live with) for 10 days to protect those around you. If you have a primary physician, you should let them know you’ve tested positive and discuss whether you need treatment.
