Test the People, a renegade.bio initiative, will continue to provide testing for anyone who is uninsured and symptomatic for COVID-19.
Funding Changes for the Uninsured
Uninsured + Asymptomatic = Not covered.
Effective March 22, 2022, the federal government's uninsured funding has run out for the HRSA program. This means that the government funding that was in place to provide reimbursements for uninsured testing has been depleted.
As of Friday, March 25th, uninsured individuals cannot be tested for free.
We’re Here to Help
The pandemic isn’t over. We believe we should continue to monitor and sequence positive samples. Our team is actively pursuing solutions to the current funding issues for uninsured community members.
Renegade.bio isproviding no-cost testing for symptomatic uninsured individuals. If an individual feels sick and wants to be tested, but doesn't have insurance, we will test them.
Active Community Partner Outreach
We are seeking partners in the public health and non-profit sectors to support testing of asymptomatic, uninsured individuals.
